Running to Make History For the first time, every single ING New York City marathoner can unite to make their run count toward the goal of raising $1 million per mile. Historically, the marathon has raised an amazing amount of money for charity with only a few thousand runners fundraising. Imagine the impact we'll have when the entire running community comes together to get involved. That day is here. This year, New York Road Runners is partnering with Crowdrise to encourage all 46,000 runners to fundraise. You can get started with one click and we're going to make certain that being involved is super fun. You can raise money and join an official ING New York City Marathon Team or start your own fundraiser. There are no minimums and no requirements and all of the money you raise rolls up into the total amount raised and we're going to be relentless about fundraising until we hit $26.2 million. This is an amazing opportunity for the entire unified ING New York City Marathon community to raise way more money than ever and make the ING New York City Marathon the most incredible fundraising event of the century.
